The Importance of Punctuation

This is a part from a book called Flowers for Algernon about a man who slowly becomes smarter. In this passage, the character learns how to use punctuation for the first time.

In the first paragraph, he only uses commas. In the second, he adds full stops, exclamation points, question marks, and other types of punctuation. Of course, he does it incorrectly. The result is very funny (but difficult to read):

Try reading the text out loud, using his punctuation. You will sound silly.

(Did you also notice the spelling mistakes? The author did that on purpose to show that this person isn't very intelligent)

Punctuation, is? fun!
